Greetings everyone! I am finally back from Japan after 10 days there visiting Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. It was a fruitful journey studying the transportation system there (I’ll post pictures up when I have some time later) and I have discovered some pretty sweet Japanese places to dine at!

1. How do you feel about being one of finalists in Singapore Blog Awards 2012?

I am pretty excited being one of the finalist in this year’s Singapore Blog Awards! I was in my hotel room at Nagoya when I saw the news via email. Thank you all my readers out there who have constantly supported GourmetEstorie!

2. When did you start blogging and what drew you to it? Where do you get inspiration for your blog content?

I started blogging officially in 2007 (sometime when I was in Junior College Year 1). However, I began a recipe and cooking tips website when I was in Secondary 1 as part of my hobby. The transition to a blog was for better content management and a streamlined interface to work with easily. I get inspiration for my blog content wherever and whenever I travel within Singapore and abroad. Delicacies can be found everywhere, and how we perceive each dish is based on our own experiences of what we have known about it before. If I come across something that is worth recommending, I’ll write it up in a blog post for all to share! Of course, it comes complete most of the times with pictures too =D

3. How do you feel about the other Finalists in your category this year? How do you think you will fare compared to them?

The finalists for this year’s category are all good and notable. Most of them I’ve met through my food journeys. It’s gonna be a pretty exciting year ahead for all of us. As for how I’ll fare as compared to the rest of them? I think I’ll leave that to the readers to decide. We are all passionate in what we do, and for me I simply want to recommend good eats with tantalizing pictures to all!
