The Prelude To Christmas, My Roast Chicken

Tomorrow is Christmas and you can really feel the spirit in the air. Everything being warm and fuzzy, where there are carols being played over the radio and on Youtube.

It is days like this when I would want to sit back next to open fire, and have a nice big pot of chestnuts slowly roasting in its warm flames. But to have a fireplace in Singapore, is a little difficult. Heh.

So I settled for the next best thing. Roasted a chicken at home and stuffed it with a generous portion of chestnut stuffing and dressed all up in a colourful variety of white, red, brown, yellow and green. Its as though the chicken itself would be going to a Christmas party.

I would love to share with all the snapshots of the festive season. Let the moment of magic begin =)

What Christmas Is

Christmas is upon us
As a moment to give,
to share, to have joy,
and to love.

Stars all glitter,
in their vibrant hues.
And the trimmings
are all rich, in their
textures of purple
and bountiful gold.

Out in the streets,
the children hop,
with their sheer smiles
of laughter and merriment

In the homes,
a warm flame
fills the centre of the fireplace.
As the thick, accented earthy
aroma becomes the air.

The night has come.
And all is dark.
But a certain peace,
a certain silence,
cannot be forgotten.

While all is calm,
a lone star,
shines brightly
throughout the sky.

Choirs erupt everywhere,
and a tearful warmness
becomes the spirit
of each and every heart
that lies within.

Every year,
this has become a time
to remember that a star
has been born to us.

Have A Merry Christmas Everybody!
