Love Hokkaido? Kuishin Bo’s Japanese buffet selection will from now till 5th January 2015 feature a range of Hokkaido dishes and ingredients on top of its extensive Japanese culinary lineup. Indulge in some of Japan’s northern region delicacies such as the seasonal Golden King crab leg; Kani Salad made out of Horsehair crab, King Crab and Snow Crab; and the Ika Meshi – Hokkaido Stuffed squid with glutinous rice. Available at both the Great World City and Jurong Point outlets, and during lunch and dinner, this Sapporo Fair Delight will enchant diners looking for a refresh in the reasonably priced Japanese buffet menu.
Look out for items such as the Nama Hotate Nirigi, Uni Ika Nigiri and the Shima Hokke (grilled sun-dried Atka mackerely).
If you’re in the mood to tuck in to some delectable mains, enjoy the Tokachi Nikujaga. Made from Hokkaido Tokachi beef, the dish is prepared with potatoes, assorted vegetables and stewed in a sweetened soy sauce.
Sapporo Chicken Soup Curry
The Sapporo Chicken Soup Curry is also available on the menu. Milder and much lighter than the more robustly textured and flavoured Japanese curry, this is one dish that would have been a nice touch to the heavier dishes if there was a pinch more seasoning.
To end off the meal, tuck in to a serving of Yubari Melon Soft Serve made from pure Hokkaido milk. The prized melon’s essence is well incorporated into the soft serve, although it was a little too sweet for my liking.
For the savoury in you, go for the Hokkaido Cheese Cake, a beautiful dessert that is blissfully fluffy, a touch sour and comforting.

The dishes at Kuishin Bo are decent and reasonable for the buffet price. With the added flair of the Sapporo promotion, I’d say that it is a buffet worth visiting especially with big groups of friends who’d like a bit of everything. Sapporo beer will also be available at 1 for 1 pricings. Do note that not all the seasonal items will be available throughout the day. For a better selection and spread, the dinner option will be the one to head for.
Thank you Kuishin Bo for the invitation
