Skinny Pizza is offering free Truffle fries on Tuesdays with an order of their thin crust pizzas. I was there for a catch up with Gwyneth, and it seemed like the perfect place for nibbles to share and enjoy the night as we caught up on life.
I started off with a drink of Mixed Berry Tart Mocktail. Refreshing, clean tasting and easy to drink, this was the perfect cooler for me before all the heartless begin.
We ordered the Dijon Chicken and Coriander Pesto skinny pizza to share with an additional order of three sides for $18. I thought the pizza to be rather decent, though not particularly stellar like their more popular squid ink and breakfast pizzas. The flavours were a little tangy, savoury, but not particularly even throughout ad most of the sauce fell on the chicken pieces.
I was more impressed with the side of Grilled Prawns with cauliflower cous cous. The prawns were key in this dish, and their freshness and sweetness played a key role in lifting the overall flavour.
The Truffle fries were decent enough to sate the tastebuds, and since they came with the pizza, it was a nice sweetener to the overall deal.
Skinny pizza will be one of the hangouts to be at. And since they are conveniently located at major shopping areas, it is an easy spot to be at. However, I’m keen to try out more unique varieties that would bring out the peculiar pairing of thin crust pizzas and premium toppings. The dijon chicken was a good attempt, but for me, I thought it needed a little more work. Maybe the next time, I’ll go back for my more regular varieties.
