It is not all fine dining at three-Michelin star chef Santi Santamaria’s new restaurant “Santi” at Marina Bay Sands. On Friday, the maestro himself unveiled the introduction of his new tapas bar and lounge featuring an all new tapas menu with delights of his creation of Mediterranean cuisine.
Tapas, definied as a wide variety of appetizers or snacks in Spanish cuisine is part and parcel of any good bar visited in Spain. It is an accompaniment to the drinks served up at the bar and made so for a more casual and informal setting between diners. And a variety of tapas served up together can even make a full meal, except that every dish is in miniature portions meant to tickle the appetite and even tantalize the senses.

I am back at Marina Bay Sands again! Seemingly, the resort has such a wide spread of facilities that I feel I have only begun the exploration throughout. My cover yesterday at Rise, located at the lobby of tower 1. Elegantly portrayed as the place to dine for hotel guests and locals alike, Rise features a smorgasbord of cuisine that will please many palates.
There are many counters to venture through and each has a bounty of dishes to select and nit pick your appetite on. I will name them casually as what they impress me as. There is the International Dishes section together with on the spot pan fried meats and the delicious roasted rack. And usually for buffets during lunch, they have a live pasta section!

Marina Bay Sands official opened yesterday on the 23rd of June. Today, in conjunction with the resort’s celebrations, the seven celebrity chef’s restaurants were featured. The chefs are all big names and renowned throughout the world, and with Marina Bay Sands gathering them under one magnificent resort, an explosion of gastronomic culinary delights awaits.
Internationally familiar names, the celebrity chefs adorned the stage today for an introduction and press conference with the world media. Daniel Boulud, Guy Savoy, Santi Santamaria, Tetsuya Wakuda and Justin Quek were present today with Mario Batali and Wolfgang Puck away due to other commitments.
Much anticipation awaits for the culinary society in Singapore. Perhaps even a Michelin star awaits?
