From the south of the Yangtze River, the culinary fare found across this particular region has made their way to Singapore. Crystal Jade is bringing forth authentic Jiang Nan dishes including delights such as the Braised Pork Knuckle served with Beancurd and Vegetable to the Poached Eel with Flour Skin in Spicy Hot Soup. To cater to the wider tastebuds of guests, multi-flavour Xiao Long Bao will also be making their appearance as a specialty of the restaurant.
Crystal Jade Jiang Nan offers up four distinct styles – Sichuan; Jiangsu; Hunan and Shanghai. With a smorgasbord assortment of over 120 dishes, this is one restaurant that fits in nicely in the niche palate as a starter for Singapore.

Opened in February this year, the hotel features a flagship Indonesian restaurant called Rumah Rasa where authentic ibu-esque flavours come alive in Chef Sharifah’s creations. For a tantalizing family spread of dishes like Paru Goreng and Udang Petai Belado to a creation of Ayam Panggang that is smoky sweet and tasty, this is a good pit stop for that hearty cuisine you wished you indulged in.

After my last visit to Himawari at Changi Business Park, I was very keen to check out the other outlet present at Alexandra Road. Chance came along when Leroy suggested that we head out to the restaurant for an impromptu dinner, and everything seemed to fall into place. It was a well stuffed Sunday evening with lots of good food and after getting to meet Yoichi-San (Executive Chef of Himawari) again after such a long time, Himawari has made it to that little cozy spot in my mind if I ever want to have a homely Japanese dinner, buffet spread of course.
