I had dined once before at Morganfield’s, and I was a fan after that meal. The restaurant chain’s good music, Southern hospitality, and satisfying portions meant I was instantly a convert. I was therefore extremely excited when I was invited to the launch of their Christmas 2016 menu at their Star Vista outlet.
However, its Christmas 2016 menu is a mixed bag. On one hand, this Midwestern restaurant’s famed prime ribs held up to scrutiny, with meat that fell off the bones; on the other, it disappointed with one particularly poorly done dish and some wallet-unfriendly prices (especially if you have a huge appetite)!

The Lawn at the Biopolis and most recently at Shenton Way, is one Salad cafe where you get to fully customize your salad whilst pairing it with a choice of your favourite meats for that hearty, satisfying meal. Top it off with a range of dressings that settle for the tangy sour to the robust medley of sambal, and you are in for a delicious ride. Enjoy your greens the way you want it! Meat lovers can celebrate with one more option at Morganfield’s this Christmas season! Christmas BBQ Ribs just got better with two special edition sauces – Christmas Cranberry and Christmas Thyme spread lovingly on the restaurant’s signature Sticky Bones! Have that specially prepared in the Morgan’s Christmas Platter and easily share the joy with 3 other friends as they indulge in the selection of sausages, honey baked ham, turkey, roast pumpkin and potatoes, broccoli and the ever delectable, fluffy Corn Bread. Ready for the treat?

Talk about breakfast on a whim. Early this morning and slightly after midnight, Ming Ting and Jianyi called me to ask if I was keen to visit Bread Yard, the sandwiches & all-day breakfast at SUTD. Since the little cafe was just down Dover road and with a almost fanatical rave of how awesome it was, I dropped breakfast plans in college and joined the duo. Bread Yard is located on campus within SUTD. For those who live around the area, this makes one more breakfast option to the list. The deal is especially sweetened when you realise that the breads, baked in clay pots to simulate baking in a wood-fired oven, are especially delectable, wholesome and hearty. The dishes, generally affordable and well worth the value paid for makes the visit all the more worth it. Great for sandwiches and all day dining!
