The largest beer festival in Asia will be back for its eighth edition from 16 to 19 June at the Marina Promenade waterfront area. With a grand feature of over 500 beers, premium whiskies and spirits alongside oodles of live entertainment and acts, next weekend will be the weekend to look out for. Take part in party games like beerpong or darts and tuck in to food dished out by restaurants such as Harry’s Tiger’s milk and Mr & Mrs Maxwell. Tickets start from $15 for the UOB Exclusive pass, $30 for the standard pass, or if you plan to be a VIP for the night, from $130.
I was treated to quick preview recently and a few beers caught my attention. First up, look out for the Gosnells London Mead. Made from citrus blossom honey and water, this special craft beer is made using traditional brewing methods with no addition of hops, apples and grapes. Light, frothy and sweet, this was exceptionally refreshing and would definitely be a crowd pleaser especially in Singapore’s weather.
Then there is the ABK Rose. Beer lovers will know of the Aktien Brewery which has over 700 years of brewing heritage. The Rose is a special mix of light ABK beer and organic lemonade with a 100% natural rose colour. I would say that apart from its unique colour, it is a beer that is crisp and refreshing, fantastic for summer.
The regular ticket comes with 1 complimentary beer. If you do go for the VIP package, there will be a free flow of 20 different beers for 8 hours. There is also added access to the VIP deck, complimentary access to the Comedy Lounge and other goodies on top of express entry.
