Tired feet and aching shoulders are a common ailment among shopperholics, aging parents, and the occasional youngster who have walked the whole day from Suntec to CHJIMES. And when the clock strikes 3, the stomach instinctively acknowledges that it is tea time.
I happened (serious its just a coincidence) to walk past Kuriya, and with the innate urge to flip the menus, I happened (yes its by chance) to look at their Tea Time Deal for $6 from the hours of 2 to 5.30pm. For the offer, it is a choice from the desserts menu plus a beverage (coffee/tea/green tea).
Intoxicated, I went in and called for the Soba Crepe with a Iced Green Tea. A little dry, but velvety with the sweet yellow sauce drizzled around. The little balls of fruit were refreshing and appealing.
The Matcha Cheese Cake (Green Tea Cheese Cake) carried out the powdery texture of the green tea and although delicately sweet, it was reminiscent of the bitterness of the tea. The vanilla ice cream with powdered peanuts was ordinary but nothing beats an ordinary ice cream =)
For the value steal deal of $6, I have to admit that the price factor is a major draw here. A small sum to pay to rest those weary feat after a long shopping day and you get to nibble on cakes while slurping at that cup of tea.
