It is once again the month of November, and with it comes the early Prelude on what to expect for Christmas. In the Gourmet’s world, this heralds the celebratory mood of the season with feasts all around, sweets in beautiful rainbow colours, large platters of roasts, and the never ending flow of buffets.
This Christmas buffet season, 4 Hotels – Crowne Plaza Changi Airport; Holiday Inn Atrium Singapore, Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre and Intercontinental Singapore, gave the media a sneak preview of highlights, the chefs’ creation, and what joyful goodies to expect and savour.
The Kaya Logcake or as termed in the press release “Homemade Coconut Jam with Toasted Almond Yule Log Cake” (Crowne Plaza)
The Crunchy Pearl Tiramisu – Classic Tiramisu with expresso soaked lady’s finger and pearls (Crowne Plaza)
Fresh Mince Pies being dusted with a loving dose of icing sugar. Mmm (Intercontinental Singapore). And if you noticed, the foreground area of the picture is a Christmas tree made out of cream puffs!

Cereal Crusted Tom Turkey served with Glutinous rice, sauteed baby thai lettuce & curry leaf flavoured butter sauce (Crowne Plaza)

Pan Seared Salmon with Basil and Pine Nut Crust – This was really yummy. Crisp herb flavoured skin followed by the oily goodness of the pan seared salmon giving that ultimate juicy interior. (Intercontinental Singapore)
The Maine Lobster – Sauteed with fennel and mushrooms in a cream sauce and lastly infused with Pernod. A very delicious concoction of creamy textures, umami flavours with the all generous meaty chunks of lobster. (Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre)
Pan Seared Scallops with Ikura and Caviar sauce (Crowne Plaza)
