Christmas is once again upon us, and organizations all around Singapore are all prepped with festivities to welcome this joyous occasion. Parkroyal on Beach Road for this year’s Yuletide season has in store for everyone a feature of Roast Turkey with 12 different kind of sauces to go along with. That’s right, 12 different kinds to accompany the festive bird with. And since you’re at it, might as well try some of their Christmas Fruit Cake which I found to be excellently moist. And the glazed cherries on the top as well!
The festive dishes in addition to the traditional buffet lineup has in store the Roasted Turkey with Sausage Meat, Chestnut and Mushroom Stuffing, Roasted Honey Glazed Ham with Pineapple and Cranberry Sauce. And something I did not get to try at this lunch, the Roasted Ribeye on Wagon served with Herbs Sauce.
I found the Christmas turkey to be nicely done with the meat well moist and tender. On its own, its surprisingly good enough to eat. But to really explore and discover, here are the sauces which will be available.
- Laksa Sauce
- Giblet Sauce
- Cranberry Sauce
- BBQ Sauce
- Rendang Sauce
- Thai Mango Sauce
- Satay Sauce
- Black Pepper Sauce
- Mustard Sauce
- Tong Gui Herbal Sauce
- Sichuan Sauce
- Pineapple Sauce
Trying the various sauces, I still found the traditional Giblet Sauce and Cranberry Sauce to my liking. The Thai Mango added a savoury tangy twist and it gave an Asian Christmasy feel to the whole dining experience. I didn’t really like the sichuan sauce as it was tad too watery but the Tong Gui (Dang Gui) sauce was really nice is essence brimming with the scent of herbs.
And there’s the yummy Oyster Omellete and Crispy Soft Shell Crab.
Christmas goodies and sweets! Gingerbread cookie was not my to my liking though and it was sugary and gummy. But oh that fruit cake.
The Christmas Fruit Cake in its whole yummilicious glory.
The bloggers and friends!
Christmas at Parkroyal offers traditional festive favourites in addition to the buffet spread available daily. The choices are select and while not extensive, it offers a quaint and beautiful ambience to dine in. And on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day itself, I’ve heard that Santa Claus will be going around to bring a little joy to the children who dine at the restaurant. For a fun and festive christmas, it’s 8 more days to the celebration! And do look out for more Christmas posts in the next few days =D
